Mission


CFD Research has the mission of helping industrial & research partners exploit CFD to solve and to better understand complex fluid flow, heat transfer and related processes that occur in industrial and environmental flows which in turn, leads to better design concepts & solutions or enhanced process performance.


We fulfill our mission by providing research, consulting and training to enhance the CFD capability & sustainability of our partners and thereby maximising the value of their business.


CFD Research was founded in 1989 by Dr Clive A. J. Fletcher, the internationally recognised CFD expert. Dr Fletcher has been the Director of the Centre for Advance Numerical Computation in Engineering and Science (CANCES), University of New South Wales from 1993 to 2002. He has over 30 years of extensive CFD experience investigating single and two phase fluid flows as well as heat transfer relevant to any industrial devices from power utility boilers to building services. He has published over 250 research papers on CFD and the author of the widely used textbook, Computational Techniques for Fluid Dynamics.


CFD Research (Singapore) Pte Ltd was established in 1999 by Dr Fletcher and Mr Amir K. H. Wee. Mr Wee received a degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from Nanyang Technological University (1993) majoring in Aeronautics and Master of Science from National University of Singapore (1999) majoring in CFD. He has over 20 years of experience in CFD code development and industrial application (in aerospace, maritime, automotive, electronics cooling, HVAC, fire & safety and environmental flow engineering) and successfully completed over 250 CFD consulting & research projects, including validation tests. His research interest includes turbulence modelling and numerical discretisation techniques for partial differential equations. He has published research papers on CFD.
